My Favorite Festival

Christmas Day

My favorite festival is Christmas Day. It’s not the traditional for Chinese. It’s for the Christians. On this day, I can receive some gifts from my friends and family. We will decorate the Christmas tree and sing carols. In the evening, we will have a big dinner with turkey and many other delicious foods. After dinner, we will watch the Christmas movies. I love the atmosphere of Christmas, it’s warm and cozy.

National Day

National Day is coming, and we can have a seven-day holiday. My family are going to Hainan. It’s a good sea city. We will go to the beach and swim in the sea. We will also visit the famous places like "Tianya Haijiao" and Wanquan River. I think we will have a wonderful time there.

Mid-autumn Day

My favorite holiday is Mid-autumn Day. It is the day for family gathering. On Mid-autumn Day, families will stay together and eat a big dinner. My families always make very delicious food. After dinner, families will enjoy the beautiful full moon. We often have a good talk and eat moon cakes and fruits. For me, I like moon cakes very much. They are so tasty. Besides, the Mid-autumn Day is in autumn. It’s my favorite season.

Chongyang Festival

The 9th day of the 9th lunar month is the traditional Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. It usually falls in October in the Gregorian calendar. In an ancient and mysterious way, people eat chrysanthemum wine and climb mountains on this day. It’s a day for the elderly to show respect and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather.
